The Queen Kapi’olani Hotel is resting on lands once reserved for Hawaiian ali’i – or royalty.  This area including the Kapi’olani Park located across street were gifted to the Queen herself by her late husband King David Kalakaua.  These stories and more make up the rich history of Waikiki and Honolulu as a favored place for kama’aina and guests to gather and mingle.
