Staff Recommendations for
the Best of Oahu

  • Hiking: Get high atop Diamond Head, where you can see the entire south shore, and all the way to the West side.
  • Watch a sunset: Our favorite spot to catch the sunset is at Waikiki Beach Walls, where the pier juts out to the ocean.
  • Spot a monk seal: Waikiki Beach is also home to a resident monk seal family that often comes ashore to sunbathe. Swing by Sans Souci Beach to see if you can catch a glimpse.
  • Snorkeling: The crystal clear blue waters of the Pacific Ocean are so much fun to explore. Head to Hanauma Bay for an experience that's like swimming in an aquarium.
  • Yoga: Whether you're a new or experienced yogi, Waikiki has classes for all levels. YogAloha is our favorite studio to zen out.
  • Biking: BIKI has made it easier than ever to get around by bike. So grab a set of wheels and explore from Diamond Head to Kaka'ako for a real tour of the town.
  • Golf: There are a number of great courses within a short drive from Waikiki. Swing with the pros at several local golf courses, which include the home of the Sony Open.
  • Luau: Kalua Pork, Poi, & Mai Tai's, what more could you want? How about an amazing sunset and fire knife dancers as well? Had to Paradise Cove Luau for all of that and more.
  • Mai Tai: Speaking of Mai Tai's... Our favorite is on the Beach at Duke's Waikiki, the quintessential cocktail spot for visitors and locals.
  • Surf: Waikiki's slow rolling waves and shallow water is the perfect spot for hanging 10. Grab a board or a surf lesson from our friends over at the Hans Hedemann Surf School. Hans is an old pro surfer, and will have you ready to surf Pipeline in no time.
  • Live Music: Blue Note has opened their newest location just a short walk down the road. Stop in for local and international favorites.
  • History: Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial are synonymous with Hawaiian-American history, and a must do on your visit to Oahu. Spend a few hours or the whole day exploring this historical site.
  • Culture: Our favorite spot for Hawaiian culture and history would have to be the Bishop Museum, located near Downtown Honolulu. With 5 floors of artifacts, art and more the Bishop Museum is a real treat for those wanting to learning more about Hawaii.
